Leadership Development Programs

Our Leadership Development Programs focus on accelerating the development of the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to be a successful leader at CVS Health. These opportunities are designed to support your career growth in a variety of ways including but not limited to; meaningful assignments and on the job experiences, targeted development support, mentorship, networking and a variety of other development resources.

Actuarial Science, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics

Program length:

A 4.5-6 years rotational program

Program Description:

  • In this program, you’ll begin as an actuarial analyst and work to pass Society of Actuaries (SOA) exams to become a Fellow of SOA. While rotating through major business areas, you will develop the skills required to become a risk-assessing leader at Aetna, a CVS Health company.
  • Dedicated paid study hours during the work week and a raise for each SOA exam that you pass.

Majors: Computer Science, Digital technology, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Business, Healthcare, Marketing

Program Length: The Digital Leadership Program (DLP) features two distinct program tracks – the Digital Academy Program (DAP) and the Digital Engineering Accelerator Program (DEAP), which are both one-year training opportunities.

Program Description: This program is for passionate, motivated people who want to join a high energy and growing team to make a difference in the lives of customers and who want to be on the ground floor of digital innovation that aims to reinvent what a health care company can be.

What to expect:

  • The Digital Academy Program is a one-year, non-rotational track that provides opportunities for participants to become grounded within their respective roles within the following functional areas: Product, Design, Customer Success & Operations, Digital Analytics, Mar Tech, and the Agile Transformation Office.
  • The Digital Engineering Accelerator Program is a one-year, rotational track that features two, six-month rotations. The functional areas for the program include backend service development, web development, mobile app development, platform engineering, security engineering, and Site-Reliability (SRE)/TechOps.
Majors: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or related quantitative majors

Program Length: A 3-year rotational program consisting of three 12-month assignments

Program Description:

  • This program focuses on developing your finance and technical skills, business acumen, and leadership competencies to build a foundation to accelerate your career
  • In your rotations, you will learn fundamentals such as controllership, finance planning and analysis, data analysis and visualization, as well as business partnership, financial storytelling, and process improvement

Program Length: A 3.25 year rotational program consisting of three 13-month rotations

Program Description:

  • Each rotation is packed with on-the-job experience and supplemental developmental curriculum to position you for success as a future general manager. General managers are leaders who have overall responsibility for leading and driving effective teams to manage both the revenue and cost elements of a company’s income statement, known as profit & loss responsibility.
  • Program participants get well-rounded experiences in a variety of business units and exposure to key business lines and leaders across the Enterprise while sharpening leadership skills to prepare for future roles post-program as general managers.

Majors: Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Management, Psychology, and others

Program Length: A 12-month comprehensive training and development program, including a six to eight-week in-person orientation before transitioning to a full-time field account sales or service role

Program Description:

  • Since 1924, the E.E. Cammack Group School Sales Development program has trained more than 1,300 sales and service professionals on the fundamentals of our industry to help them develop strong transferable skills for success across our entire Aetna sales and service organization. Through this incredibly competitive and highly sought-after sales development program, participants learn the foundations of our business and gain critical knowledge to better position them for entering the field of healthcare benefit sales and account management.

Majors: Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Cybersecurity, Computer/Management Information Systems, or related major.

Program Length: A 2-year rotational program consisting of four 6-month assignments

Program Description:

  • Our program accelerates your professional development with the goal of providing the skills necessary to be a leader in our IT functional areas. You will develop the skills and competencies needed to help shape our company’s technological future.
  • Specialized training sessions to improve your skills in digital transformation, cloud computing, public speaking, and more. You will gain experience in functional areas such as cyber security, enterprise architecture, technology delivery, and IT strategy.

Majors: Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Social Sciences

Program Length: A 3-year rotational program consisting of three 1-year rotations

Program Description:

  • This program will accelerate your capabilities while preparing you for key leadership roles in our Human Resources organization. You will enjoy a personalized approach to development, creating the foundation for your short and long-term success.
  • Rotations may include areas such as: Talent Acquisition, Compensation and Benefits, Diversity and Inclusion, Employee Relations, etc.

Majors: Marketing, Marketing Management, Digital Marketing, Marketing Research, or other related studies

Program Length: A three-year rotational program consisting of three 12-month rotations

Program Description:

  • Our dynamic program is designed to prepare individuals to become future strategic marketing leaders. This accelerated development program provides experience with compelling and challenging projects, career coaching, networking, and exposure to senior leadership.
  • Each rotation is packed with on-the-job experience within some of our key marketing disciplines including brand design & management, content development and performance, marketing operations, and marketing strategy.
  • The program will help you hone your marketing skills while providing you exposure to our enterprise strategy, culture, and way of working, establishing a strong foundation to build a rewarding and impactful career.

Program Length: A 4.5-year rotational program consisting of three 18-month assignments

Program Description:

  • This rotational program will provide you the opportunity to develop a complete view of the organization and the ability to articulate our strategic direction, while supplying you with the fundamental knowledge to become an underwriter. You will determine accurate and competitive rates and fees for new and renewal business, based on analytical and financial insights.
  • You will learn the skills and develop the competencies that are fundamental to becoming a successful leader.

Program Length: Most Store Manager in Training assignments last 6-18 months. This is a self-paced, structured program with on-the-job training opportunities built to develop individuals into a full time store manager.

Program Description: Designed for graduating seniors and recent graduates with a four-year degree, and community college students with 2 years of retail work experience.

Our future store managers will learn:

  • A foundation of leadership and key competencies
  • Inventory, merchandising, and financial management
  • Employee staffing, training, and development
  • Working with a purpose in order to deliver results

Yes, our post-graduation roles are paid.

CVS Health has roles available in a variety of office and store locations across the United States as well as Work from Home positions. Our largest corporate offices are in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Arizona, Illinois, and Texas. Locations vary by role.

We adhere to a hybrid model for corporate office based roles. To best support our patients, our retail management, distribution center, and retail pharmacy roles will continue to require colleagues to be on site.

CVS Health offers a varied relocation package for qualifying roles and locations that meet our relocation requirements.

There is no limit on how many positions you can apply to. We recommend applying to 1-3 roles, keeping in mind you will only be eligible to accept one offer.
